EXCURSION TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM

To broaden the horizon of learning through a fun-filled educational trip, the students of Class III were taken to The National Museum on Wednesday, 5 February 2020 and Friday, 7 February 2020 respectively.
The children were led through the various galleries, wherein there was a display of coins, costumes, jewellery, weapons and seals of ancient India. The students enriched their textbook learning after witnessing the artefacts of the Harappan civilization. The trip was informative and an enriching experience for all.

EXCURSION TO THE RED FORT

An educational excursion to the Red Fort was organized for the students of Class IV on Thursday, 06 February 2020.The students were familiarized with the glorious Mughal architecture as they witnessed the legendary halls like the Naubat Khaana, Diwan-e-Aam, along with Rang Mahal and Char Bagh gardens. They were also enthralled to see the famous Moti Masjid built by Aurangzeb and the lush green gardens which adorned the place.
The students were briefed about the great Mughal emperors and were further told that on the Independence Day, our Prime Minister hoists the National Flag at the main gate of the fort every year and delivers a speech from its ramparts. The students had a wonderful experience exploring the Fort and the visit provided them an opportunity to learn about the rich heritage of our country.

EXCURSION TO THE NATIONAL GANDHI MUSEUM

To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, an educational excursion was planned for the students of Class II to the National Gandhi Museum at Rajghat on Friday, 31 January 2020. The visit provided an opportunity to the students to know more about Mahatma Gandhi’s work, life and philosophy. The museum provided a complete panorama of his contributions through the amazing collection of original documents, personal relics, photographs, art work, audio-visual aids and models of Sabarmati and Sevagram Ashrams and Hridaya Kunj – a replica of his residence. The children were awestruck to see a movie presentation based on the life of our Father of the Nation and his contribution to India’s freedom struggle. Students thoroughly enjoyed the trip and it was an enriching experience for them.

AN EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO THE 'GANDHI SMRITI MUSEUM'
An educational trip to the ‘Gandhi Smriti Museum’ was organized for the students of Class V on Tuesday, 28 January 2020. . The multi-media memorial consisting of visuals perpetuated the memory of Mahatma Gandhi and the noble ideals he represented. A large collection of photographs with a few of Gandhiji’s personal belongings such as charkha, glasses, stick etc. and a series of small terracotta dolls illustrating incidents from his life, enthralled one and all. It offered an opportunity to the students to witness the display of a rich collection of relics, letters and correspondence belonging to the Father of the Nation.

TRIP TO JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN
A group of 110 students of class VII and 10 teachers went on a three days trip to the vibrant city of Jaipur from 13 to 15 December 2019. The journey by bus was very comfortable. During their stay the students visited Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, Hand Made Paper Factory, Chowki Dhani Village, Birla Planetarium and Albert Hall. The visit to Chowki Dhani on the second day was the highlight of the trip where they enjoyed the fair and the traditional Rajasthani food. The experience offered a blend of traditional and modern amenities in an ethnic environment.

TRIP TO ASTROPORT, SARISKA
A two day trip to Astroport, Sariska was organised for the students of class VIII. 64 students from Class VIII (D AND E) went from 06 December to 07 December 2019 while 72 students from Class VIII (A, B AND C) went from 13 December – 14 December accompanied by their teachers. Activities like Astronomy, Jungle Safari and Organic Farming were organized for the students. Sumptuous and wholesome organic food items were served at all meal times. Students enjoyed the team building exercises. It was a wonderful experience for everyone.

PICNIC TO LOHAGARH FARMS
Set in the foothills of beautiful Aravalli Ranges, sometimes getting away to an idyllic rural life is the best way to beat the stress of city life. To accomplish this, 152 students of class IX, along with 15 teachers went to Lohagarh Farms, Sohna Road, Gurgaon. They left for their destination from school at 8.00 AM and reached there at 10.30 AM. It was a perfect retreat for unwinding and experiencing genuine rural cultural exuberance with hot and sumptuous breakfast followed by Team Building Activities under expert supervision of trained coordinators. After a variety of traditional dishes for lunch, the students with their teachers started for school. They finally reached back at 6.45 PM in the evening.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO JIM CORBETT
The students of class VI went on an educational trip to the Jim Corbett National Park on the foothills of Himalayas between 29 November to 1 December 2019.The group consisted of 104 students and 11 teachers. The students were taken on a jungle safari and were explained the relationship between men and nature. They also visited the Jim Corbett museum, Hanuman Ghari and the Corbett waterfall. The students went for a nature walk as well.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO NIPGR, OPEN DAY
An educational trip was organized to National Institute of Plant Genome Research on account of ‘Open Day’ at the Institute on Wednesday, 23 October 2019. Biology students of class XI B along with their teacher, Ms. Shelly Wadhwa visited the Institute on this occasion.
The students were exposed to the research work being carried out at the institute and got an opportunity to interact with the research students and professors. Techniques like DNA extraction were demonstrated and students were familiarized with the application of the latest techniques like RNA interference in developing better crop varieties. It was a fruitful experience and motivated students to explore the area of scientific research as a career option.

ADVANCED ENRICHMENT CAMP MATHEMATICS
An Advanced Enrichment Mathematics Camp was held for students of class XI at DPS Navi Mumbai from 14 to 19 October 2019. Nine students from our school were accompanied by Ms. Renu Kaushik to attend the camp. The students stayed at the DPS Navi Mumbai campus where advanced mathematics classes were held for them during the course of the programme. Students were exposed to various fields of Mathematics such as Geometry, Algebra, Number Theory by experts such as Mr. V. Seshan, Mr. Vikash Tiwari, Mr. Zafar Ahmed and Mr. Joseph Amalanathan. Classes were held during the day and sports activities were arranged for the evening. The session was highly enriching for the students where they not only gained mathematical skills, but also social skills residing in the campus.

VISIT TO JEFFURRY'S PET RESORT
Students of Classes VIII, IX who are pet owners, paid a visit to Jeffurry’s Pet Resort on Friday, 2 August 2019. Mr. Achal Gupta owner of the resort and an alumnus of our school briefed the students about the needs and requirements of various breeds of dogs and how they should be pet. Students were given a demonstration about the grooming of dogs and taught how to care for them. It was a fun filled day for the students and the students learnt to treat all creations with love, care and respect.

VISIT TO THE HEART OF LAW-MAKING-PARLIAMENT
On July 24, 2019, students pursuing political science got the opportunity to visit the Parliament. The Parliament consists of two houses- the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

EXCURSION-THE NATIONAL CRAFTS MUSEUM
An educational trip to the National Crafts Museum was organized for the students of Class IV on Thursday, 27 December 2018 and Friday 28 December 2018. The museum exhibited rural and tribal handicrafts from all across the country .The exquisite display of wooden carvings and tribal paintings on the doors and windows mesmerised one and all. The artisans and craftsmen demonstrating their skills and a short documentary on the special wood craft of Puri was the highlight of the visit. The students enjoyed the trip and learnt a lot about Indian craftsmanship and the cultural heritage of India.

EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION TO AGRA FOR CLASS VII
An Educational trip was organized for students of class VII on 21st and 22nd December 2018 to Agra. 147 students along with 10 teachers visited the famous historical monuments in the city. The Taj Mahal, Akbar’s Tomb and Fatehpur Sikri were visited as part of the itinerary. The students co-related the visits with the knowledge of medieval period of history and enthusiastically participated in discussions with the tour guides. It was an enriching experience for the students

TRIP TO BHARATPUR
A two day educational trip to Bharatpur was organized for the students of Class VI from 21 to 22 December 2018. A total of 129 students accompanied by 8 teachers went on this trip. The students visited the Keoladeo National Park, formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary,and were mesmerized to see a variety of migratory birds and a few rare animals. They also visited the Lohagarh Fort built by the Jat rulers in the 18th century which is one of the strongest and finest monuments in Rajasthan. It was an enthralling experience for the children and gave them an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of both nature as well as that of a man–made architectural marvel.

THIRD VISIT TO UPASANA SPECIAL SCHOOL, ROHINI
Nineteen students from Class VIII visited Upasana Special School, Rohini on 21 December 2018. Students interacted with special children on one to one basis in the class rooms. They rendered creative help in terms of making Christmas cards and other decoration work. They also attended a session on sign language. They felt happy to help them drink their bournvita milk. The day ended on a very happy note with a dance performance by these special children.
FEEDBACK/COMMENTS: Our students were very enthusiastic and felt privileged to share quality time with special children and bring a smile on their faces. They are looking forward to more visits of this kind.

TRIP TO HUMAYUN’S TOMB
The students of Class V were taken on an educational trip to the Humayun’s Tomb on Wednesday,19 December 2018. The objective was to introduce the class to a specimen of Mughal architecture.Students, accompanied by their teachers, explored the complex which is an exceptional synthesis of Persian and Indian architecture. It was a wonderful experience for both the students and the teachers.

NATIONAL BAL BHAWAN EXCURSION
The children of Class II were taken to National Bal Bhawan for an educational trip on Friday, 22 December, 2018. They visited the Traffic Training Park and learnt a lot about the traffic signals. They were fascinated to see various types of fish at the Jawahar Aquarium. They enjoyed the Children's Museum wherein they saw the Indian culture at its best. The joy ride in the toy train was the highlight of the outing. The children loved the day spent with their friends and teachers.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO RAIL MUSEUM
The students of Class III were taken to the Rail Museum for an educational trip on Wednesday, December 2018.They visited the gallery and learnt a lot about the different types of engines. They also took a joy ride in the toy train and thoroughly enjoyed their experience.The students shared their food and had a wonderful time with their friends and teachers.

ADVENTURE CAMP AT SADHUPUL, CHAIL
A group of 120 students of class IX along with their teachers went on a four days and three nights trip to the adventure camp at Sadhupur, Chail from 24 October 2018 - 27 October 2018. The students had a first-hand experience of staying in tents in the lap of nature abounding in scenic beauty. They enjoyed a host of confidence building and adventure activities at the camp site like Burma Bridge, rock climbing, Commando net, High rope course activities, etc. The high point of the trip was the trek to the waterfall through the thick pine trees forests.

ADVANCED ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME IN MATHEMATICS
The DPS Society organised a five-day Advanced Enrichment Programme in Mathematics for selected students of Class XI at DPS Navi Mumbai. In all, 59 students from 14 DPS schools across India attended. The students stayed at DPS Navi Mumbai for the duration of the camp. The classes were conducted by eminent mathematicians Mr. V. Seshan, Mr. Vikas Tiwari, Prof. Joseph Amalnathan, Scientist BARC and Prof. M.A. Prasad, Former Scientist BARC. The participants were able to gain in-depth knowledge and understood the topics covered. It was an enriching experience as it provided students an ability to visualize and develop a distinctive way of thinking. A Mathematics Talent Test was conducted for the participating students. Our students performed exceedingly well. Saksham Chauhan (XI B) stood first while Vanshaj Vohra (XI A) and Parth Mahendru (XI A) bagged the second place. In all, it was an intellectually stimulating and rewarding experience.

FIELD VISIT FOR CLASS XII PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS TO VIMHANS
An educational visit to VIMHANS Hospital was organized for the Psychology students of Class XII on 18th and 19th September 2018. 36 students of class XII participated in the field visit which provided a practical exposure to students about Therapy and Disorder, which are a part of their syllabus. The visit provided the students an opportunity to experience Art therapy, food therapy, case discussion and experience cases on hospital rounds. The visit was very informative and the students came back with real and moving and memorable experiences.

MEDICAL EXHIBITION- ‘CATALYST-2018’ ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
The Students‘Union, AIIMS had organized a medical exhibition for school students on Friday, 27.04.18. Students of classes XI B (Biology) of our school along with Ms. Shelly Wadhwa visited the exhibition which provided students an opportunity to learn briefly about human anatomy using cadaveric specimens. The students were also exposed to the basic forensic techniques – analysing poisonous plants and animals, weapons, basic life support techniques like the CPR and microscopic examination of various tissues. They also got a chance to interact with Mehul Gupta- one of our ex-students at AIIMS who gave useful tips on how to study and crack premedical entrance tests.
It was an informative and motivating visit for the students.

VISIT TO MUGHAL GARDEN
Delhi Public School , Rohini organized an educational trip for the students of class-V , to the Mughal Gardens on Tuesday, 6 March 2018, as a part of the Nature Week to enjoy the beautiful flora and the onset of spring.
The wide variety of trees, bushes, vines and seasonal flowers mesmerized one and all. The crisp fragrant atmosphere and the colourful flower beds were a sight for sore eyes. The musical fountains added to the beauty of the breath taking surroundings. The children also visited the Bonsai Garden, Spiritual Garden and the Herbal Garden and learnt about the uses of various kinds of plants.
It was an enthralling experience for the children and gave them an opportunity to learn and appreciate the beauty of a variety of flowers and plants.

TRIP TO RAJASTHAN: JAIPUR
A group of 88 students of class VI and 9 teachers went on a three days trip to the vibrant city of Jaipur from 7 Jan 2018 to 9 Jan 2018. The journey by bus was very comfortable. During their stay the students visited Jantar Manta, City Palace, Bapu Bazar, Amer Fort, Chowki Dhani Village and Central Museum. The visit to Chowkidhani on second day was the highlight of the trip where they enjoyed the fair and the traditional Rajasthani food. It offered a blend of traditional and modern amenities in an ethnic environment. Their experience of the forts and palaces was very rich and educating. Students returned from the tour with a lot of happy memories.

VISIT TO PRATAPGARH FARMS, JHAJJAR
A daylong excursion to Pratapgarh farms was organised for students of Class XII. 98 students went for the excursion accompanied by 5 teachers. It was a day full of fun, frolic games, dance and good food. Children enjoyed it very much. They enjoyed traditional village activities like camel ride, puppet show, matka race etc.

TRIP TO AGRA AN FATEHPUR SIKRI
A group of 148 students of Class VII and 14 teachers went on a two day trip to Agra and Fatehpur Sikri from 22 December – 23 December 2017.The journey by bus was very comfortable. During their stay, students visited Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Buland Darwaza, Fatehpur Sikri and Dargah of Sufi poet Salim Chishti. The stay in the hotel was comfortable. It was a wonderful experience for the students.

EXCURSION-THE RASHTRAPATI BHAWAN MUSEUM
An educational trip to the Rashtrapati Bhawan Museum was organized for the students of Class IV on Thursday, 14 December 2017. Students visited the hi- tech story telling museum and learnt about the major events that have happened in India and also came to know about the exotic gifts received by the thirteen Presidents of India from various parts of the world .The virtual walk with Gandhiji was the highlight of the visit.
Students enjoyed the trip and learnt a lot of facts about our country and its leaders.

A group of 62 students of Class VIII (C&E) and 9 teachers went on a two day trip to Astroport, Sariska from 8 December – 9 December 2017.The journey by bus was very comfortable. Activities like, Astronomy, Jungle Safari and Organic Farming were well organized. The organic food served was sumptuous and wholesome. Students enjoyed their experience of staying in tents. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

Children of class V went for an educational trip to Sulabh International Museum of Toilets at Dwarka on 25 September 2017.
The children explored the historical trends in the development of toilets across the world. The museum exhibited toilets from ancient civilization to some ultra modern electronic toilets. The process of preparing biogas and its importance was explained to the children. The children learnt the importance of sanitation and hygiene through the audio-visual aids shown by the NGO authorities. Overall, it was an enriching experience for the students as well as the teachers.
