In a world where adversity often silences ambition, Rivansh Arora, a Class XII Humanities student at Delhi Public School, Rohini, has become a shining example of perseverance by securing an outstanding 94% in the CBSE Board Examinations—despite living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a progressive genetic disorder that weakens muscles over time.
Diagnosed at the age of four, Rivansh’s life has been marked by constant hospital visits and physical challenges. Yet, his indomitable spirit and hunger for learning have defined his journey. From excelling academically to earning accolades like the Scholar Badge in Class X, he has turned every challenge into a stepping stone.
At the heart of his success lie many untold stories—the unwavering support of his mother, Mrs. Nidhi Arora, and the inclusive ethos of DPS Rohini. The school’s Principal, Mrs. Kanika Sachdeva Govi, personally reached out to the CBSE Board, advocating for a special provision that would allow Rivansh to appear for his practicals in an online mode. Her efforts bore fruit, and Rivansh was granted permission by CBSE, enabling him to participate in a more comfortable setting considering his challenges.
Always radiating positivity, Rivansh shares, “Focus on what you can control. Choose happiness every day.” He dreams of a future in Computers or Psychology, aiming to use technology and empathy to uplift others.
Rivansh’s story is more than just academic success—it is a powerful reminder that with courage, compassion, and purposeful support, no dream is beyond reach.
